Bonus Round: Thirty Days of [blank]

I hear it takes thirty days to make something a habit. Thirty days. In a sense, that a long time if we’re talking sobriety. But compared to growing an entire person, that’s like, what, one ninth? NUTHIN’! I say.

Well, let’s just see about that.

Starting August First (grab your iCalendar! QUICK!) which is Saturday, I’m starting a new series: Thirty Days of [blank]. I’ll try to post once a month for thirty days as I accomplish some sort of task. Working out 30 days in a row? Drinking enough water? Going sober? No caffiene? Reading actual books that require one you lick their finger and turn an actual page?

You wanna join my crack pot lastest idea? Of course you do. You do because it’s good for you. Because thirty days of sex isn’t a bad idea. Because thirty days of yoga can’t be wrong. Because thirty days of singing out loud with the guitar that’s been hiding in your closet since the late 90’s can only mean one thing: You’re you.

And I’m me.

Let’s do this together.

Starting Saturday.

30days

I want to join, but I have no clue what I’m going to do. 30 Days of Wearing Pants? Probably not a bad idea. 30 Days of Actually Putting Laundry Away? My husband would die and go to heaven. 30 Days of Not Sticking My Foot in my Mouth? Never going to happen.

I guess I’ll have to get back with you on it…

Nice. I am spending way too much time here today.

OK, 30 days. Thirty days. Something POSITIVE, I am gathering.

I’d rather do thirty days of something naughty, non-healthy. But that would be too much like all the other days, eh?

    Sheesh. Thirty days of ….

30 Days (and nights) of … almost had it there.

Wow. I’m stumpted. I will get back to you on this. It will be Tuesday, and I will have already started, but I will have SOMETHING. Something POSITIVE.

30 days of sex sure would make my husband happy. I’m thinking 30 days of working out. Less ass jiggle would make BOTH of us happy.

I am definitely doing this! I turn 33 on Sunday and I am about as unfit and unhealthy has I could possibly be. Actually it could be worse I’m sure but it doesn’t seem that way.

My 30 days are going to focus on exercise. Thirty minutes a day for thirty days. Hopefully I won’t flake out.

So this whole thing has made me decide that it’s such a good idea, I’m going to try this for a year. Each month I will do something for 30 days. Except for February which will be 28. Unless it’s a leap year. Anyway, I’m still going to stick with the exercise for the first month but I needed one specific place to keep track of it. Enter http://thirtydaysforayear.wordpress.com/

  19. I’ll play. Great idea. I’ve got to do something simple. So I’ll make myself drink a glass of water a day. Sounds small but seriously I NEVER drink anything but diet coke. never.

And some people say that’s bad for me. go figure.

WOW! In one short blog entry you made me feel completely better that have been neglecting my vegetable garden. Along with all the canning that goes along with it. So even though it isn’t that much fun. I am going to do thirty days of gardening and creating a plan for my fall garden.

I was leaning towards 30 days of pilates, but the garden comes first because, hopefully, it will keep us fed through most of the winter.

So can we come back here for support? To talk about our experience?

Well I am back and going to try to reduce my belly by September 1. Birthday coming and I want to fit into my skinny pants. Notice I said pants, not jeans. I will never again find a pair of jeans that will fit. I am taking water arobics and will exercize on off days and hope (pray) (beg) or starve to lose the baby fat that is now 40 years old.
