I Rocked Lane Bryant at BlogHer

Way back in February, Amy and I were talking on the phone late one Friday night, as we sometimes do. We spoke about BlogHer and costs and whether or not Amy was going to make the trip. Then an idea popped into Amy’s head — what about a clothing sponsor?? I thought it was brilliant.

I mentioned that I had worn some Lane Bryant pants to BlogHer ‘08 and loved them. Amy was to find the PR person and we decided to work on a pitch together. We agreed that Lane Bryant has a bit of an image problem — I’ve heard it called “Lame Giant” many times. Amy and I wanted to show that not only does Lane Bryant carry cute, affordable clothes, they also help us make fat look good.

In the end, Amy and I were able to secure $100 gift cards plus $50 off coupons on a $150 purchase to Lane Bryant. I, however, being the cracker I am, didn’t get to use my coupon because I couldn’t get my ass to the store before it expired.

Lane Bryant also sent us either a pair of the new straight leg Right Fit jeans (I’m a blue which = BIG BOOTY), or the new back smoothing bra, or both, depending on size restrictions. I got the jeans and they are AWESOME. LOVE the Right Fit in general, and the straight leg is a good update to their other Right Fit offerings — Flare and Boot Cut. The rinse is also updated for Fall, which I love.

Back to BlogHer — I picked out an AWESOME hot pink cross-top empire waist dress. Now normally I can’t wear empire waist dresses because of teh bewbs. They be large n stuff. They like to escape under that empire-ness and look redonk.

But this dress? This dress is made of magic. Just look how it made me feel:

Sassy!

And okay, not exactly the most flattering angle, but look how confident and carefree the dress was!

Another problem I have is with too-short of sleeves on anything. This sleeve hides teh ugly bulgy just perfectly.

Since I also bought Cacique bras (which I’m totes wearing in those pics), and happened to get a couple extra just in case, I had some exchanges to make after BlogHer. I took the two bras I didn’t want and got a cute little beachy sundress shift on sale and noticed that my beloved pink dress was also on sale — in both the pink and the red. So hurry and get one before they sell out!

So, in sum: LOVE the Right Fit Jeans. LOVE the cute flippy flirty dresses. LOVE the bras and undies. HATE the graphic print/sparkle tees in general, and their t-shirt type tops have never fit me well. The work-type clothes I don’t have any need for, so you’ll have to judge for yourselves.

I want to thank Lane Bryant and Ritter Hoy, their PR rep, for treating us all so well and taking a chance on us crazy blogger chicks!!

Oh yeah, I ALSO got a super cute necklace there — Leslie wore it to our party on Thursday night!
